Day 1: Arrival
Upon your arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our company representative. After a brief introduction, you will be transferred to your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe. Enjoy the evening at leisure, relaxing after your journey. Dinner will be served at the hotel.
Day 2: Kampala City Tour
After breakfast, embark on a Kampala city tour. Your first stop will be the Uganda Martyrs Shrine in Namugongo, a significant historical and religious site where many Christian converts were martyred. Learn about the history and significance of the shrine before proceeding to the Uganda Museum, where you will explore exhibits that showcase Uganda’s cultural heritage. Enjoy lunch at Nandos or another restaurant of your choice. In the afternoon, visit Ndere Cultural Centre for a demonstration of traditional food preparation and vibrant music performances. Return to your hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Kabaka’s Trail
Today, you will explore the Kabaka’s Trail, a journey that delves deep into the rich cultural heritage of the Buganda Kingdom. Start with a visit to the Buganda royal tombs at Kasubi, the traditional burial place for the last four kings of Buganda. Here, you will learn about the history of the kingdom and have the unique experience of sitting in the world’s largest grass-thatched house. Continue to the Kabaka’s Lake, a man-made lake created by one of the Buganda kings, and then visit the Naggalabi coronation site, where Buganda kings are crowned. Enjoy a packed lunch along the way. Return to your hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Transfer to Jinja
After an early breakfast, drive to Jinja, making a stop at the scenic Sezibwa Falls. These falls, created by a twin river, are not only beautiful but are also believed to have healing properties. Continue to Jinja for lunch. In the afternoon, visit the source of the Nile, the world’s longest river. Take a motorized canoe to the exact spot where the Nile begins its journey to the Mediterranean Sea. Later, visit Bujagali Falls, another breathtaking site on the Nile. Overnight in Jinja town.
Day 5: Transfer to Kumi
Following breakfast, travel to Kumi to view the Nyero Rock Paintings, which are among the finest rock art in East Africa. These ancient paintings, believed to be around 400 years old, depict various scenes and symbols. In the evening, drive to the Sipi Falls area for an overnight stay, where you can relax and enjoy the serene environment.
Day 6: Back to Kampala
In the morning, hike to the Sipi Falls, a series of three stunning waterfalls that offer breathtaking views and excellent photo opportunities. After the hike, return to your lodge to prepare for the journey back to Kampala. Enjoy the scenic drive and arrive in Kampala in the evening. Dinner and overnight at your hotel.
Day 7: Transfer to Hoima
Today, you will travel to Hoima, stopping en route at the Nakayima Tree, a 400-year-old tree that is believed to house the spirit of Ndahura, a legendary Bachwezi king. Learn about the local beliefs and traditions associated with this sacred tree. Continue your journey to Hoima, arriving in the evening. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 8: Visit the Bunyoro Kingdom
Visit the Bunyoro Kingdom and explore the royal burial sites of the late kings of Bunyoro. This visit provides a fascinating insight into the history and culture of one of Uganda’s oldest kingdoms. Afterward, drive southward along the western edge of the Ugandan Rift Valley, passing through picturesque agricultural lands and rural villages. Arrive in Fort Portal, a town known for its beautiful crater lakes. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 9: Kibale National Park and Chimpanzee Trekking
After an early breakfast, head to Kibale National Park, renowned for its high concentration of primates. Here, you will embark on a chimpanzee tracking adventure, where you will have the chance to observe these intelligent and social primates in their natural habitat. Kibale is also home to other primates such as Grey-cheeked Mangabeys, Vervet Monkeys, L’Hoest Monkeys, and Red Colobus Monkeys. In the afternoon, visit the Tooro King’s palace and the burial site of the late kings of the Tooro Kingdom. Conclude the day with a visit to Nyakasura, commonly known as the breasts of Nyinamwiru. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 10: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
After breakfast, transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park, one of Uganda’s most popular and diverse wildlife reserves. Enjoy a game drive as you enter the park, where you will have the opportunity to see a variety of wildlife, including elephants, buffalo, lions, and numerous antelope species. Arrive at your lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight.
Day 11: Game Drive and Boat Cruise on Kazinga Channel
Start the day with a morning game drive through the Kasenyi tracks and Kob mating grounds, where you may spot lions, elephants, buffalo, hyenas, and other wildlife. In the afternoon, take a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, which connects Lake Edward and Lake George. The channel is famous for its high concentration of hippos, as well as a variety of bird species and other animals that come to the water’s edge to drink. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 12: Transfer to Masaka
After breakfast, depart for Masaka, a town located in the central region of Uganda. Enjoy the scenic drive and arrive in Masaka in the evening. Overnight at a local hotel.
Day 13: Transfer to Sembabule District
Today, visit the Ntusi mounds in Sembabule District, two significant archaeological sites known locally as Ntusi Male and Ntusi Female. These mounds are associated with the legendary Bachwezi rulers and provide a fascinating glimpse into Uganda’s ancient history. Also visit Bigobyamugenyi Fort, another important historical site. In the evening, interact with local communities and visit some schools in the area. Overnight at a local lodge.
Day 14: Transfer Back to Kampala
Transfer back to Kampala with a stop at the equator for coffee or tea and a photo opportunity. Visit the Mpambire drum makers to see the process of traditional drum making. Continue to Kampala and, depending on your flight time, visit markets like Nakasero, crafts markets at the National Theatre, and Buganda Road for souvenir shopping. Finally, transfer to Entebbe International Airport for your return flight, marking the end of your tour.
